Julius E. Coles was the director of the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership. Previously he was president of Africare. He has also served as the director of Morehouse College’s Andrew Young Center for International Affairs and as the director of Howard University’s Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center.
Most of Coles’ Foreign Service career of some 28 years was spent as a senior official with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He received a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and a master of public affairs degree from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
