James Blue 91

James Blue is an award-winning television production executive currently with “PBS NewsHour.” He oversees all NewsHour special programming, working to extend the brand across a range of media platforms. On the daily broadcast, James is responsible for initiatives including “Race Matters,” “Brief But Spectacular,” and the “#IMHO” series of broadcast essays. James is the executive producer of “NewsHour Presents,” a series of primetime PBS specials, as well as NewsHour’s Facebook Watch program, “That Moment When.”

Prior to his current role at PBS, James produced programs for outlets including NBC News, ABC News, Black Entertainment Television (BET), and the Discovery Channel. He reported extensively overseas during two assignments in ABC News’ London bureau and has served as the “Nightline” London editor. Over the course of his career, James’ work has won major broadcast journalism awards including eight national Emmy Awards, two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Awards, and five George Foster Peabody Awards.
