Broderick Johnson

Academy Award-nominated producer Broderick Johnson is co-chief executive officer and co-founder of Alcon Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based wholly independent production company that develops, finances, produces and markets theatrical motion pictures and television.

Alcon has financed and produced or co-financed and co-produced 34 films to date. These include the Academy Award Best Picture nominee “The Blind Side,” which earned Sandra Bullock an Oscar for best actress. Among Alcon’s other films are “Blade Runner 2049,” which won two Academy Awards for best cinematography and best visual effects and received an additional three nominations; “The Book of Eli” starring Denzel Washington; “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”; and the family hit “Dolphin Tale 2.”

Alcon Television Group, a division of Alcon Entertainment, has produced many popular shows including the hit science-fiction series, “The Expanse,” premiering its fourth season on Amazon Prime on December 13; and the animated children’s series “Pete the Cat,” a co-production with Amazon Studios currently available on Amazon Prime, based on the best-selling children’s books.

Other television projects include the Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated HBO four-part documentary “The Defiant Ones”; Amazon’s animated holiday special, “Pete The Cat: A Groovy New Year”; and the Emmy-nominated HBO documentary “Sinatra: All or Nothing At All.”

Johnson lives in Los Angeles and is married to Jennifer Johnson. They have three children.
